A few words that describe my year, most be “fun”, definitely. “Unforgettable”, I won´t forget all the trips … and “hygge”, definitely hygge. The way I can describe the community of Risskov Efterskole is the diversity and how much of a family we are, actually, we care about each other and we always take care of each other when one is sick – its like a family!!

Hanging out with friends and going to school with friends, living with them, you don´t know anyone to start with and you become best friends its really cool just to hang out and live with them everyday actionably it a school year becomes really short – at least for me.

The coolest thing for me was hanging out with friends, going to school friends, playing basketball with friends and the linje. At first you don´t have any friends and you don´t know anyone – but than you become best friends and you live everyday together and you eat together. Meeting new people and making them your best friends for the whole year – some become best friends for life, it feels like that.

Hanging out in New York with your best friends and play basketball, hanging out with the basketball linje, the coach, just going around in the city and looking at all the cool stuff, eating New York food and watching basketball games in New York.

Aarhus is a very cool city to be in with friends and is very close to the beach.

Personally, I have become more open, its easier to talk to new people. In the school there is a lot of people so you can´t talk to everybody, but I try to make everyone my friends. So that is what the school has taught me about life socially, but you are also more organized because the put a schedule for everything, made me wake up at certain, study, and we did more stuff in groups – it organized my life.

The best thing about daily life is the training and telling stories while you do it. Playing music, being around, you are always having fun when you are in school – that´s what I remember the most. If you do things with friends its always fun. You always do things with some else – you newer do anything alone in the efterskole, and you meet new friends – who are friends of your friends.

I choose Risskov Efterskole, at first it was because of the basketball linje and to become more open and social – but after I feel in love with the people and I think that´s the best.

The best thing about Risskov Continuation School is the community! You get so close to each other that you almost feel like it’s your family. So you talk to them about everything – if you, for example. do not know how to wash, then there is someone who comes and helps one. You get so mega close – the others are your family for a year !!

The cool thing was to meet all these young mega-sweet people, but also the teachers who are here at Risskov Continuation School. You get much closer with all the teachers you have and then it gives a nice safe feeling when they come and say goodnight to someone, make a joke and then eat some of your candy ..

Our itinerary was mega exciting. We had a lot of cool experiences and also time in the room and when we slept, we slept with someone you were not normally with. It was exciting and challenging, but the trip gave us a special togetherness.

I have become much more open. You have to be able to talk to everyone – you are almost “forced” to do so. In the beginning, there are a lot of fun community-creating games that help make it easier to be with new people. You become much more social by being in efterskole and you become better at being with many people. You become more independent by learning how to wash your own clothes and you learn how to cope with everyday life when mother is not right next door.

At efterskole we have time for everything. There is regular schooling where I thought I learned a lot. Usually when you come home from primary school, you are mega tired and may not have energy for anything at all. Here at the efterskole you can just go out and play some volleyball or participate in an activity or something else – during the day it is much more than just school. During the day we can between the hours sit in a sofa and just have fun and after the hours we can sit in the rooms and talk together, go for a walk, play volleyball or go up to the kitchen and make some pancakes.

Risskov Efterskole is very unique because we are so close to the city that we can go down to the city after teaching. We also have Risskoven very close and I was often out running in the forest and in the summer we were often down to swim at the beach.

If I had to say three words that fit my efterskole year, it would have to be fun, cozy and my line. On the line you got a really good togetherness and you get some challenges you have to solve together with the others. It was a big experience!!
